The First Week, the Most Important Week!

This is what I do my first week! The first week is so overwhelming but can make or break the rest of your year! I do not take any grades the first week it is all about routines, procedures expectations    , social skills, etc. AND REPETITION!!!!!! Every activity I do is not about the curriculum or grade it is about establishing a framework for the rest of the year. REMEMBER everything you do this week is about routines and expectations!!!

Before my kiddos even arrive I set up a table with baskets/bins to place supplies as the kids arrive. They will meet their teacher J, sort their supplies, put up their backpack and go straight to their seat.

I do go ahead and label their lockers and number their seats.

Love my LOCKERS!!
I have met several teachers that prefer to wait to label because their class lists change BUT I remember how much I liked finding my name when I was littlethe kids and parents enjoy having their names already placed J.

At their seats I have white play dough in a baggie! Read this post from Clutter Free Classroom
I just get a large bucket of white play dough from Amazon.

OKAY, let’s get this party started!

I do community supplies and do not hand out supplies all at once. Read this post to see how I introduce supplies and why my students start the year with an empty supply basket!

Hope these are not confusing or overwhelming :). I included links to all the products I use the first week.
